Innovative Solutions to End GBV
Land & Ancestral Acknowledgement at the International Summit on Ending Gender-Based Violence 2024
Today, we honor the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee, and the Huron-Wendat peoples. Their land has long been a meeting place and home for Indigenous peoples.
We also pay tribute to Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit individuals who have been lost to systemic injustices, and reaffirm our commitment to justice, equity, and safety for all.
Additionally, we acknowledge the contributions of African ancestors whose resilience shaped the freedoms we enjoy today, despite enduring systemic oppression.
Let us use this summit as a platform for solidarity, healing, and meaningful change in the fight against gender-based violence.
